Sierra Nevada

         The Sierra Nevada, Lake Tahoe in particular, is home to California´s most popular ski destinations. The mountains are high, and the snow is reliable all season. There is a cost for this, of course.

          Lift tickets cost $40-50$ a day; three-day or weekly passes are usually cheaper. Basic rentals – skis, boots – cost from around $15 a day. Add to this, lessons and accommodation and you are looking at a fairly expensive but wonderful winter break.
